What a VPN hides, and what it can't
What changes when you connect to PeachVPN, and what stays the same.
A VPN sends your internet traffic through an encrypted connection to a PeachVPN server. Here is what that changes.
What a VPN hides
- Your IP address. Websites see the address of the PeachVPN server, not yours.
- What you do from your network. Your internet provider, or whoever runs the Wi-Fi you are on, sees that you are connected to a VPN, but not the websites you visit.
What a VPN does not change
- Accounts you sign in to. If you log in to a website or an app, it knows it is you.
- Cookies and trackers in your browser. They still work. Use your browser’s privacy settings for those.
- What you share yourself. Anything you post or send is still seen by whoever receives it.
What PeachVPN records
We do not record the websites you visit, what you download or your DNS lookups. The details are in our privacy policy.
